2015 Yukon Denali rear brake light

So I have heard of many issues with these rear brake lights, but one thing I have found out that I have not seen mentioned is that:  The brake light works when the vehicle is placed in park, as you shift from park to drive/reverse/neutral the brake light stops working so far only on one side.  Is the fix still the whole light housing, or is there some other issue going on?
