I tried to use the "real outlet" with a basic drill one day and it wouldn't even power the drill. Don't think I was doing anything wrong, and it was frustrating to have that happen that day.

And I like your reference to NO AC VENTS in the REAR SEATS. WTF GM!!!!!???????

Third Sierra. Never not once have I plugged anything into any of the 120v recepticals. It reminds me of a cassette player. Why in 2018?

The 120 outlet is low current but it works great for stuff like charging a notebook. Being an IT guy, its nice to have notebook power and WIFI.

Its really not designed to run power tools

This is discussed on other threads and you will find vents directed to the back under the front seats. I appreciate that many don't find this as effective as the blow in your face type rear console registers. The vent controls need to be on a setting that directs air to the floor. I have spent many hours riding in the back seat of my son's HC in the summer heat of south Texas and find it very comfortable. I understand this system has changed for 2019. I wonder if the vent under the seat placement was also intended to help in the cooling/heating of the front seats.

You know as well as I do that it feels much better to have the cooling effect directed at our faces, not our feet. This is why the "rear AC" is a "Feature I Never Touch." Here's how it goes in real life....AT LEAST 80% of the passengers that ride in the rear seats of crew cab trucks are children whose feet don't even reach the floor. Putting the AC on face and feet combo to get that trickle of air to come out of the rear under-seat vents only robs the face vents of an easy 50% of their power. Since the rear passengers are already leaning towards the middle to gasp for the remnants of cool air that make it to the rear of the cabin, this severely decreased airflow eradicates all hope they would have of feeling anything hit them. Therefor, we are forced to use face only, crank it up, and aim it to the rear. Flat out, GM screwed this one up and needed to have vents that could be directed to the face, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT'S KIDS THAT MOSTLY RIDE IN THE BACK SEAT.

Most of yall would really miss out on the features of a Jeep then. My wife's Grand Cherokee Summit has about 2 times the features that my Denali has not including the best 8 speed out there. I bet my truck would gain half a second 0-60 if it had her transmission. I drove her 4 year old Jeep today and had buyers remorse with my brand new truck. Oh well I digress. Lesson learned for next purchase if I could get only get over how ugly the 2019 Rams are.

Your views on this topic are well stated and shared by many on this forum. (At times you even sound overheated. ;-) ) I personally find the HVAC system in these trucks very effective. There are ample vents, imo to maintain a comfortable temperature for all passengers, but there is not currently a wind in your face option for rear passengers. I do not care for air blowing at me while in my home, work or in my vehicle. After entering a hot vehicle I open windows for the first block or two to bring down the cab temperature. I have my vents to the floor/dash combination with fan on high and AC set to lowest temperature. When everyone is comfortable (including grand kids) I switch to floor only and the temperature is maintained at at an even comfortable temperature throughout the cab. There are times I will use "dash only" but seldom if I have passengers or pets in the back. If you are unable to achieve a comfortable temperature throughout the cab there is also the possibility that service may be required.

Yeah for about 5 minutes when you get in and are sweaty. After your sweat evaporates, blasting air in the face is extremely annoying. You must only make short trips in your truck.

Totally agree. I hate air blowing in my eyes, I never use the vents pointed at my face, either for heat or AC.

When we take cross-state trips with the kids, or even just a 15 minute drive into town- I set the auto temp to 70 and let the truck do its work. I leave windows down if its excessively hot in the truck until I feel cool air blowing, then close the windows. The truck moves air around quite well even to and around the back seat.

Aseibel, you beat me to the punch when it came to quoting Donstar's post and saying that you agree with him. I DO agree with him, and I DO agree with you, but when it's 115 degrees here (the San Fernando Valley in Southern CA), it takes a lot longer than 5 minutes of AC in your face to feel better. And you're actually 100% percent correct about the fact that I take mostly short trips. Because I live in such a city environment, nothing like the farmland of Salinas where I grew up, nearly all of my trips are 30 minutes or less...hence the need for full frontal AC to cool down the 150+ degree truck (after it's been sitting in the sun). I do the exact same thing as you, too: roll down the windows, blast the face AC, then tone it down when I can. I also remote start it and let it sit when that's a possibility. Once you're comfortable, the face AC on the lowest blower setting is actually too much wind, I agree.

The only problem is the fact that the kids in the back don't get the same relief in the same amount of time as the people in the front seat without having a face vent. THAT'S THE POINT I'M MAKING. It has nothing to do with the fact that the truck CANNOT cool down, because it CAN. Like you said, "the truck moves air around quite well even to and around the back seat." Look at it this way, if you were sitting in the back seat of a scorching hot truck, would you rather have face vents or not? That's all I'm saying. The last two of my three previous Sierra's had the rear face vents, so it's a bummer that my newest one does not. And to go back to both of your posts, this truck DOES cool down rather fast. It's actually better than my wife's 2017 Audi Q7, so no complaint there.

I agree with Mileguru. The system is nice and effective when it is 80 degrees out, but for example my truck sits 9 hrs in the sun that makes it reach 120 degrees inside (Houston Tx summer), it usually takes around 25 minutes to get it to where you don't need the ac vents directed at your face to be cool. In my case it also doesn't help that I drive West on my way home at 5 pm lol.

Back on subject: I never use the adjustable pedals. I think I have used them twice just to make sure they work.

The Best one that I wished work for my phone was wireless charging ! yea don't use it, and to use android auto it needs to be plugged in ! so whats the point
