Wheel Spacers?

Recommended Posts

I drive a 1995 chevy K2500 and I have noticed that the wheels in the front (on 4x4 models only) stick out further than the back. The front tires are about even with the flares, whereas the back is inward. I love how it looks in the front, but I wish the back was the same.

Does anyone make some kind of spacer to line the wheels up?

If so, will this have a negative effect on the axle or anything else? I don't want my payload to suffer.

Here's a pic that kind of shows what i'm talking about.

Thanks

I had a custom set of wheel spacers made for the rear of my 01' 2500HD 4x4. This is the website that I ordered them through.

Wheel Adapter.com

I have had them on my truck for over 18 months now and have not had any problems. It gives my truck a nice wide stance, I think! The are made of billet aluminum which make them light yet very strong. I measured the track difference between the front and back and ordered two 1-5/8" spacers for an 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern. I basicaly told them what I wanted and they made them for me. You will need to provide them with the dimesions of the spacers you would like made for your truck. There are other places that do spacers now it seems like than there was when I ordered mine. If you browse the web I am sure you can find a few more if you want to price shop. I think I paid around $250.00 for the set of two wheels spacers at the time. Good luck, hope this helps....

Here is a pick that may give you an idea what it will look like....

The spacers did come with the wheels studs and bolts were provided to attach the wheel spacers. All I did was bolt the wheel spacer to the existing studs and mounted my wheel to the new studs that were set into the spacers. The existing studs I had in back were a little longer than the depth of spacers so I had to trim about an 1/8" off of them so they would not stick out past the surface of the spacer. The really did a great job making them for me and the guy that runs the place is really nice. Well worth the money I paid. Hope this helps you out. I wish I had a picture to show you of the spacer mounted on my truck. If I am able to get one I will post it here for you.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I like the 100,000 mile bearing warranty on the correct track spacers. I'll have to think about it. $350 seems like a lot, but I think it would make the truck look a lot better.

THanks again

Ryan
