Well made a discovery today while removing all the build tags . The spare tire is marked “maxxis 750 Tempoary use only”  Bravo?   Anyone else have this as a spare? ☠️

Yep, mine is the same! Full size tire but for temporary use only.

The remote close feature should work on all models with the powered tailgate.

Doug,

Power up/down tailgate is standard on High Country and available on LTZ.

Remote-locking and power release tailgate is standard on RST, LT Trail Boss and LTZ, and available on LT. These are not Power Up.

Another small but nice change I noticed. On my 2016 the oil fill was a screw on cap on the valve cover. My 2019 has a filler tube that is high over valve cover and it is level so a funnel sits on it level. Much easier and less messy.  ???

What do you guys think of the plastic hood release lever?

Is it beefy or flimsy when operating?

It seems fine to me.  I do not see what the big deal is about a plastic secondary hood release!

Yep, unfortunately Dan is correct. I just tried it. No power up.

It's plastic but seems sturdy enough.. I don't see what the fuss is.

Two Things learned -

Gap Setting confusion - Came out of a 2015 Suburban with adaptive cruise control (hated it most of the time) and found the same settings on my HC, so figured it was adaptive cruise control given all the other "safety" features in the High Country package. Nope, no real idea what it does, but sure isn't anything to do with adaptive cruise control.

Apple CarPlay and navigation - the HUD and Driver Information Screen will only show navigation when using the onboard navigation but not with when using Apple CarPlay (Assume Google is the same) That's too bad. I tried to "trick" it by using both but engaging one navigation will cancel the other.

The Gap feature, if not used for adaptive cruise is used for the Green Vehicle you see in the DIC when you have a vehicle in front of you. The Gap based on your setting would automatically calculate the distance you should be based on speed. If you are following "too closely" the green vehicle will turn amber in color. I believe you will have 3 settings from close, medium and far. (I do not remember if they use different terms.) This does adjust based on your speed. If you are going 35 mph the gap does not have to be as large as when you are traveling 75 mph even on the same setting.

This is all based on my knowledge from my 2014 Impala LTZ current truck doesn't have the fancy features. I am also going based on the assumption that did not change since. So i still could be wrong.

The Collision Alert (Gap) setting control:

The Collision Alert control is on the
steering wheel. Press to set the
FCA timing to Far, Medium, or Near.
The first button press shows the
current setting on the DIC.
Additional button presses will
change this setting. The chosen
setting will remain until it is changed
and will affect the timing of both the
Collision Alert and the Tailgating
Alert features. The timing of both
alerts will vary based on vehicle
speed. The faster the vehicle speed,
the farther away the alert will occur.
Consider traffic and weather
conditions when selecting the alert
timing. The range of selectable alert
timings may not be appropriate for
all drivers and driving conditions.

Thanks, the confusion is from coming from a vehicle with adaptive cruise that uses the identical controls. I had set the gap and was surprised when I was approaching a car and the vehicle wasn’t slowing.
