Need information on load maximum for #20937769 Wheels

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I need your help.

For the german TUV I need written infromation about the load maximum of the 18x8,5" 5-double spoke wheels of the 2Kxx series of trucks.

GM Part number should be #20937769

I called GM, but they can not help me because

1. I live in germany

2. I do not hava a VIN suited to these wheels, because I want to mount them to my GMT800 Truck

So can anyone here, who has a fitting vehicle and who lives in the US, contact GM to either get the official load max for these wheels, or a letter, that they can be used on a GMT800 Silverado 1500?

This would be awsome.

I know that the 2Kxx Trucks have a higher gros axle weight than the GMT800 and therefor it should be a no brainer, but the TUV is often a pita for gearheads...

I dont see how your maximum weight is for wheels ...99.9% sure the maximum will always be what the TIRE wiill support. A Large 20" michelin is rated at almost 4000 pounds or 1814.369 KG. I have no doubt that an elephant could do tricks on top of one of those wheels without issue.

The wheel must not only withstand static weight but also massive shock loads my guess would be far exceeding 10,000 pounds for the WHEEL itself.

With a six lug wheel I would think that you would overload the truck before the wheels were called into question anyway.

Often, the back of the wheel will have capacity stamped into them.

I haven’t had my wheels off to check, though.
