The most honest and perfect review I have read yet on the 2019s

Recommended Posts

The two things he got wrong was about coil spring rear end being better than leaf spring rear end and that the exterior looks bad. Other than that the article was spot on. GM is gonna have to do a interior refresh real quick to stay competitive.

Wow, what a garbage review!

A. This model Silverado is by far the smoothest yet.

B. Why do people keep saying the interior is boring? In the upper trim levels (LTZ & High Country) you get a comfy leather seat, tons of electronic features, a nice steering wheel. OK I will admit that the 8” screen is a little small, it would be nice to be bigger.

C. The 5.3 L engine performs the best yet with the weight reduction so I imagine the 6.2L is a beast as well.

D. The 8 speed transmission is great (not sure on the 10 speed)

I rate this new body style Silverado very highly. GM did a nice job here. Comparing to my previous year Silverado, GM made some fantastic upgrades.

That article author, Lawrence Ulrich, apparently is butt hurt on the pricing. Well buddy, prices go up every year, I hate it too but I am not going to trash the new Silverado because of inflation.

The article reads as if written by some slob who’s boss drives a ram and told him to search the forums and destroy the Silverado. As most of the negative reviews are from non 2019 Silverado owners, you can take there opinions with a grain of salt. As a owner of a 2019 LTZ, I can say with experience that this is the best Silverado I have owned, and being 66 years old and having owned many that is a fact. Funny, in the 3 weeks I have owned this truck I have had more compliments on it then all my other trucks combined.  I am 100% pleased with my truck as I think most if not all of the 2019 GM truck Owners on this forum are. Like the old saying,  Don’t knock it till you Try it.  ?

i agree with every aspect of the article my 2014 chev vibrator will be the last dime gm will get from me

You are referring to a 2014. We all know that the 2008-2018 GM trucks were all known for the infamous Chevy Shake, it’s gone now!

Amen brother! I have the LTZ as well and if you see my above post, love it.

Yes the older Silverados had their issues, but I honestly feel like GM listened and fixed all of those here in this new body style.

I actually found this to be a very poor review.  The article was riddled with personal bias with spots of where an editor may have directed the author to make friendly comments.  It is a feel good article for those who may have a problem with their current GM product.    Obviously you should switch to a RAM with a TV mounted in the dashboard and the legendary k-car rear suspension!  ;-)

I just don't get the love affair with the Ram interior. Particularly the huge screen. I love technology, but not just for the sake of technology. Heated seats - I can push a button, change the temperature, turn a dial - all doing it without taking my eyes off the road. Why should I need to navigate through some screens to do what a simple button/dial can do. It's chilly and want to heat the steering wheel, just push a button on the steering wheel, not work through a menu on the touch screen. I just don't get it.

Opinions are like you know what, everybody has one and most stink. I like the exterior of the 2019. The reason I bought my 18 started out with I don't like the exterior of the Ford or Ram as much as the Chevy. I've had a Dodge and it lived at the dealership getting all kinds of things fixed. Everything else I've had lately was a Ford and to be honest have been pleased (08 Edge about to hit 200K) The Chevy truck just looked better.

I don't know anything about this but this makes sense to me.

So I assume you agree with this review based this on your own personal experience and that you own a 2019 Silverado?

I have driven the ram earlier this year and was blown away by everything about it and the interior is amazing every detail has been well thought out. I don’t like the dial shifter or the 12 in screen I would get the 8 in screen with std climate controls below. I would never even checked out ram until my friend bought a 2017 rebel and i was impressed with that body style and he was a diehatd chevy guy   His dad then also got a ram after owning Silverados for the last 25 years. I wanted to get a gmc at4 and love the exterior but interior jjst feels like a downgrade compared to my 2014.  Everything inside feels plastic rubbery feel. Leather is junk and dash design is a sea of black plastic. Just look at door panels compared to ford or ram. The gm is all cheap plastic. Also gm still restricts the 6.2 and 10 spd to highest trims. Why.  Ford has 10 spd in almost every trim and engine. It is clear gm is relying on Diehards to buy their trucks and overlook all the cost cutting and decontenting done. When I drove the 2019 sierra I love the engine 10 spd ride but interior was a huge let down for $65k.  The new trucks aren’t even class leaders in any feature or category.  I still don’t know if i can buy a chrysler product just don’t trust them.  I really hope Gm wakes up and treats the Sierra and Silverado with their besy efforts in designing every part of the trucks.  These are there best selling vehicles and they need to be the best product they put out.  I hope gm fixes these trucks when im buying in 2 years otherwise will go ram or ford. I have always been gm guy but they have been a disappointment resently

Gm did a lot of good with this new truck but something they also dropped the ball on. And yes the interior is super boring and yes I’ve sat in a new Denali and HC. But then again when was the last time gm got an interior thing ? Heck the Escalade needs all the help it can get.
