New Fuel Wheels & 33 inch Tires - Pictures and Video attached

I just wanted to let you guys know I just installed a level, wheels, and tires. The ride is excellent and feels no different than stock. There is zero rubbing or cutting with my truck. I have driven about 100 miles and tried to flex the suspension as much as I could. I have not taken it off roading yet but I don't anticipate any problems. I did zip tie the fender liner back to be safe but I don't think it is necessary with this set up.

The specs:

2018 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 4x4

Rough Country 2 inch lower strut spacer

Fuel Hostage 18x9 (+1 Offset)

Nitto Ridge Grappler 275/70/18 - Load E tires aired at 40 psi.

Im a big fan of 18 inch wheels on 33 inch tires. I was worried about the ride quality with the new tires being load E but they are great. Again feels no different than stock. Just a slight bit noisier. I also really like the +1 offset. It gives a good stance without being crazy aggressive and or causing rubbing on the fender. The new models with the stamped steel control arms is tough for sizing. You have to stay between 0 and + 14 offset in my opinion not to rub on the control arms. Anything less than 0 has potential for fender rub and anything more then + 14 could possibly rub the suspension parts. I also played it safe by going with 275 wide tire. It actually looks pretty big stretched on a 9inch wheel.

I attached a few pics and a small video I did for fun. Enjoy.

Looks great, thanks for posting your setup!  I’m in the market for wheels, tires, and a level and am thinking 275/70/18 or 285/70/17 to avoid trimming/rubbing so I can hopefully keep my Weathertech mud flaps.

I hope long lol!

I’ve got the Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 7k on them and they’re extremely tough tires. Hold up in wet and dry weather. Only thing is they’re a bit rougher riding because they’re E or F rated tires. My KO2’s would easily show scuff marks if you got curb rash but not these Grapplers. Super tough tires. Road noise is no different than the KO2’s, very quiet but one thing is be careful when you pick out the size cause they’re bigger than most tires due to their added beefy rubber. These are 285/60/20’s

I have Weathertech, and had the same desire to keep them, as you. If you go with 285/70, post your results. I tried 295/70 (34.3x11.8) but they rubbed too much and looked stuffed into the wheel well. The 285/70 (34x11.5) were out of stock and back ordered, so I dropped to 275/70 (33.2x11). They work great (10k+ miles), but I wish they were wider. One other downside of the 275/70s is that the sidewall doesn't give the wheel much protection. Scratched mine on rocks and curbs already.

I put 275/60/20 KO2’s on my stock wheels only to gash the wheels every time I clipped the curb, the KO2’s caved in on their sidewalls and show curb rash but the 285’s would be standard protection running soft tires but I’ve got the 285/60/20 Ridge Grapplers and those things are super tough, never showing curb rash either but most of all completely protecting my Fuel 20x9’s. Tires have a lot to do with but they’re also a bit firm riding as well.

You guys with the Load E Ridge Grapplers...what PSI are you running?

I've got 275/70/18 Ridge Grapplers on 18x9 Fuel Mavericks.  I'm currently running them at 35 PSI.  I called Nitto and gave them all of my setup info and they had told me that the recommended PSI for my setup was 42PSI.  However, before inflating to 42 I did a chaulk test...and it seemed good (uniform) with them at 35PSI, so I've left them there.

Generally they don't recommend going less than 1/2 the rated max psi.  Load E's are 80psi typically.  Load D are usually 65psi
