Muffler swap on my sixxo 2500hd

Got myself a nice Dynomax 17517 muffler online to replace the 55 gallon drum factory puts in. Local muffler shop installed and added a 4" stainless tip. Overall very pleased. Fraction of the price of a cat back and same results. Great sound.

Hows the 1800 rpm drone? I had the magnaflow 3.5" muffler and couldn't stand it so just went back to stock. I do have my custom mid pipe for sale still that makes for a super clean install if anyone is wanting to muffler swap. 

 

 

 

Notice your stock mid pipe dips down at the flange then for an aftermarket muffler you have to come back up or install the muffler at angle to line back up with the tailpipe.

Magnaflows tend to drone, you need a j- pipe.

Or just don't run down the highway at 1800 rpm either. Gears made my drone go away completely haha.

Highway speed is typically 2000+rpm. It's the city driving that droned the worse.

So far so good. My truck is not flex fuel so that might make a difference. My Ram used to drone with a flo pro muffler when it went into eco mode. This muffler has almost no drone. The sound really picks up

at higher rpms.
