2015 Silverado with HUD retrofit/upgrade.

Recommended Posts

First of all, I want thank@jadscoop for his tremendous contribution to this upgrade, It would have taken me double the amount of time to accomplish it. @pgamboa for his PnP HUD harness. Harness installation was as easy as 123.@gtpprix for his Denali cluster and HUD enabling programming.

Requirements.

HUD (heads up display) GM # 23474646

HUD ready windshield

Denali cluster. (Programmed to your vin and enable HUD functionality.

Phil’s custom harness. Available for sale.

The rest of it is a lot of customization to dashboard, speaker tray and speaker grille/cover and I built/install HUD switch controls. Will have ready for sale as well.

I know all you want is some pictures so...558721e5dae7c182ddd19831e2c439d0.jpg33ee295e960b5c8bb7af3233fb0ad457.jpg48ee6999a5df87581c3cbd37b42ca0e2.jpg3f6c95fd693a0856a9b34ef66127d440.jpg921551229f68b0ea2e7f72739415ce93.jpge7e8914000814b41bcf2739d96950f18.jpg41f04978d278ebf1e47edb986ad1386d.jpg857be888b144bdac594be1074dea908b.jpg9b4af819320239a7dde0299971935930.jpg

Cluster visor is still under development since I have to combine Tahoe/Yukon cluster visor hood with Silverado. Here is prototype...cf34785b80b7700fbafb17b3dc6cf6ab.jpg218eb14d08155f34f6f8f83b64f3d48e.jpgbfb4c087b5db86caa1f6218eed43684f.jpg

I will sell this new cluster visor once perfected in carbon fiber option and leather. Hopefully this helps.

What information does the HUD include? ( I have 15 Denali diesel, all my HUD does now is flash red for distances/ speed warning). Keep posting updates. Thx

There’s no programming required for HUD but there’s for the cluster. Contact whiteautoandmedia.com for question involving Denali cluster programming.

Very cool mod. Had no idea it could even be done. I would almost consider it if there was a piece of dash trim to support the HUD unit. Looks like a lot of custom work involved, your CF panel is a really cool touch. It would be cool to see what a dealer would say about it on a trade in.

The Red LED indicator in your truck now will be handled via the new HUD/display with this retrofit.

It’s his forever truck. :). But we can always revert back if necessary. Our parts piles are getting out of control. [emoji23]

Great work as always Phil, you were born for this stuff, meanwhile it takes me a minute or two figuring out how to wire a plugnplay HID retrofit lol.

The hud itself is seating on the main dashboard support just as the Tahoe/Yukon has a lot of similarities on design, but only 1 tab is attach to the frame the second will need to be created. 2 out 3 tabs of the HUD are attached and is very solid., besides the HUD is snuggled as I was cutting/modified to fit and also be removed if needed. This is my truck, not buying new truck or cars for a long time. Got my 4th baby on the way. Got to start saving for that..lol

what are the main design differences of Trucks that prevent the use Tahoe/Yukon visor after the dash is all cut to fit?  I think you posted a while back with the Tahoe/Yukon vison on a truck dash??

My Other 2 Fun Cars have HUD, and I would love it for the Denali.   If I can suggest ( I have done swap kits and swap instructions for my cars respective forums)  it would be nice to include a template for the dash cut, and a template for the HUD Switch cut

if you can make the visor look 100% factory with the stitching like the dash im interested for sure
