2015 Silverado with HUD retrofit/upgrade.

Recommended Posts

Is the visor and the hood the same thing here?

Also anyone think there would be any issues with the listed HUD and an ‘18 model diesel? When I look up that part number, more times than not it stops at ‘17 in the descriptions.

Regardless. I would probably be interested in the dash HUD visor or whatever it is called.

Yes

the hood and visor is the same thing.

The only reason I referred to it as a instrument hood. That is how it is listed on some of the GM part sites

i think if you can get White Auto and Media to get the instrument cluster to work with a diesel. Then I think it will work. The only thing the HUD does is display the information sent to it by the instrument cluster.

Check your windshield for hud acoustic sticker if it does have them you have the right one., keep in mind that 14-18 Silverado or Sierras didn’t come equipped with HUD functions.

Where did you source your windshield from?

I could not find anyone in my area to reproduce the instrument hoods for me. I am going to try and do it myself. I am using one of the instrument hoods I received from Viktorrocks15 as the template. I will update the forum ASAP

Local windshield installer. Tahoe, Yukon and Silverado share the same Winshield part.

Thanks for the info. I’ll be sure to ask for one for a Tahoe or Yukon.

I will be glad to answer any questions about the HUD or send pictures. If you want to private message me.

What did you end up doing for the hood fabrication?
