Cold weather errors (trailer connection & sensors)

Recommended Posts

Just a note. I pulled a small motorcycle trailer about 360 miles round trip on Sunday with a 4 pin  connector and had no problems. The trailer had LED lights too. As a side note I got 16.5 mpg according to the computer with 3 motorcycles and 3 adults in the truck. I know it's a small trailer but didn't even know it was there. I was impressed with the 6.2's mileage because my last truck with the 3.5 EcoBoost while having no trouble pulling was only getting 10 mpg in similar situations.

These issues also happen in hot weather too. Ninety-six in Atlanta and I get the various errors that others have experienced. Random no trailer attached but the most common is "left turn signal unplugged(blinker light blinks rapidly)".  In addition to the trailer light issue I also have the jingling  front axle issue and just this week the had the had the "SD Card has been removed error". Nice build quality.

Does anyone have any current information on the trailer system issues

I got a '21 trail boss with the advanced trailering package on it. Put 1800 miles on the truck and never hooked up a trailer. Washed it last week when it was almost 40° out. Parked in the garage then all of a sudden it started doing the trailer disconnected message over and over non stop. I shut off the trailer detection.  Went away for a few days now it came back with vengeance. Now it says check trailer lamps (all different ones) and then makes my trucks turn signals blink real fast like a light is out. I put it in the garage and cranked heat up to 70 over night and it's still messing up. Took it I'm to dealer today and he can't figure it out and they kept it over night. I'm hoping to have an answer tomorrow.
