hello All

im shopping for a 2019 LTZ...  found this deal at a long island dealership and im going saturday to talk.

they are taking 6k off the 62k sticker price.  i am trading in a 2015 ltz that has 17k left on loan.  kkb says its worth 32k.

my question is.. do you think i have more room to bring price down? its around 10% off before further neg.

thanks in advance!

It is a loaded LTZ [basically everything except manual or power steps] that is priced with GM Employee Pricing that is available to everyone this month. Could it be more?

Yes, if you happened to get a 1500 dollar certificate sent to you. Rebates? Probably not going to happen until next year, but then the GM Pricing will probably go away. This is a good

price if you wish a truck now, but next year recession fears may raise it's ugly head resulting in a great price differential, but the trade in prices may also suffer. I traded a 2016 LTZ in and received

36900 for the truck. So you are close with your trade but my dealership was selling it for 39900 [Sept 2018] and it is still on the lot at 37200 [Dec 2018]. So the market might be going soft.

Since the same pricing is available to everyone, shop around and see what they will give you for your vehicle. If a dealership does not have a 2019 you want and they give you a good

trade in price ask them if they can get  the vehicle from Huntington for you.

I get GMS pricing thru a family member . I found in the past the only negotiation really is trade in value on current year models. So go to two or three dealers and get trade value . They can always do a dealer trade if they don't have one you like. I went into order a 19 GMC serria crew cab but ended up going with a 18. I couldn't pass it up. I will probably trade 18 in for a 20 when 21's are out and have rebates on newer body style then. My trade value was 35,500.00 on a 14 GMC serria crew cab SLT with low miles. KBB on my 14 is 33,693.00  I'm  waiting for truck to arrive at dealer and finish up deal.  If you where going for a 18  I found I can almost always do a lot better than GMS pricing on last years models. Some rebates in the past are not stackable with GMS. Hope this helps out and you are cruising in that new truck soon !

Can you guys showing these high trade values be more specific on what vehicle you're trading and what category on KBB you're looking under?

For example, and LTZ could be an LTZ Z71 or not and an LTZ could include a bunch of different high priced items (6.2L, sunroof, 20+ wheels or sport/texas package, cooled seats, tonneau, steps, bed liner, etc.).  Also what mileage did the truck have?

Under KBB, there are four categories (Fair, Good, Very Good, Excellent).  Under each category there is a range of low - mid - high.

I'm just curious because I only have an LT (2016, All Star, 23K miles) and my trade on KBB looking at fair high to good high is like 28K - 31K.  I didn't think most dealers looked at very good or excellent on trades.  I'm looking at leftover 18's but considering stepping up to an LTZ, especially if they hold their value better.

Thanks in advance for any info!

I'm picking up my new 18 GMC Serria SLT Prem Plus , Z71, Sunroof, White Frost Tint,Crew Cab tomorrow morning. My trade is a 14 GMC Serria crew cab 5.3 , no sun roof ,no Z71, summit white with cocco dune interior , bucket seats and floor console, navigation, bose speakers, chrome assist steps ,all terrain package. chrome plated wheels, plastic bed liner. KBB trade value has my truck at 33,693.00 as of wed. evening in very good condition I never use excellent when figuring value dealer can always pick car apart. My truck has 13,100 miles. Dealer gave me 35,500.00. I'm very happy with trade value dealer gave me. Now I have bought a few vehicles from this dealer and they know my maintenance and know I'm a detail nut. LOL

Thanks for the info.  That is some low miles for a 2014.  Great job on the trade, well above the Very Good price.  Good luck with the new rig.
