I need a short antenna on 2018 Sierra CC

My factory antenna catches the bottom of my open garage door and drags across a lowered section of the ceiling. The antenna is only about two inches too long. I've looked at replacing with one of those short stubby aftermarket antennas but not crazy about the look and don't want to sacrifice reception.

 

Does anyone know if any other GM vehicle factory antennas, may be slightly shorter and still fit my truck?

There’s a dozen plus threads on here for stubbys seems consensus is it depends on your location to the station your listening to. If it was me I’d try shortening the factory first just enuff to clear your door.

The search function on this sit sucks but there is a thread somewhere about flipping the stock antenna upside down and concealing it in the fender well. All it requires is a rubberbcork to fill the hole.

Thanks for the link. I saw this previously on Amazon and like the other similar products it did not have many favorable reviews. Glad it seems to meet your needs. I do listen to a lot of AM and FM local sports and talk radio so reception is important.

      I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado and I have been having trouble with the entire radio and screen .. I recently replace a bad HMI module that I got from infotainment.com and it solved the issue. Now the screen is back to black and the display where the gauges are says “audio off” any idea why ?? Anyone have this issue I tried everything. Maybe I need a new ACM module now? HELP !

      I have a Sierra Denali 2019 6.2L - I apologize for not knowing much as I got the truck from my brother and never owned a truck before in my life!
       
      I would like to install two antennas on the rear stake pockets and bring the coaxial cables into the cabin. cables are 1/4 inch each. There is a also a small control cable for the tarheel antenna. I don't plan to connect the radios to the Car Batteries as I have separate batteries for radio use.
       
      I would like to know if there are some sort of documentation or drawings that shows where I can check for the cable entry points to the cabin from the rear to bring these cables into the cabin and the precautions I need to do and best practices to seal the entry points to prevent dust and stuff.
       
      any help would be appreciated.

      So I just got a 2018 Silverado 2500 and am wondering if anyone has experienced this in there’s.
       
      when I turn my truck off and then open and shut the door to make the radio turn off I can still hear what I can only assume to be the fan in the radio stay on. If I lock the truck it turns the fan off for a second and then it comes back on. If I push the power button on the radio it shuts off but again comes on. Anyone have any thoughts or does this happen in anyone else’s 2014-2019? It didn’t happen in my 2016 that had the same infotainment center that is the reason for my concern.

      my 2017 Z71 has been having issue for a while now and getting worse. CarPlay will just put calls on hold randomly, sometimes calls go to hold over Bluetooth even. Sometimes the screen stops being responsive to touch and I have to use the menu knob. Something’s it randomly changes screens, opens settings, tries to adjust the clock, like it’s possessed. 
       
      I have it at a dealership right now getting the 50k service and asked them to look into it and he called and said nothing. Can’t find any issues.  I explained again and he said he would relay to the tech… I am not confident and unsure what to even ask. 
       
      any input or advice would be super helpful. Thank you much. 🙏🏻

      I traded in a 2020 2500 truck for a 2021 2500 Denali and have nothing but problems, and the Dealer I have been using has not been helpful at all.
      The primary problem is the radio screen will go blank while driving down the road, but the steering wheel controls still work. The radio was flashed to the latest update, and still has the same problem. Code U0184:00
      The power folding mirrors went out and the dealer took four months to replace the mirrors to resolve that problem.
      I picked up the truck and drove home and the fog lights stayed on until I cycled the ignition 3 times. The next day the reverse lights were on all night, until I cycled the ignition a few times, while driving down the road (with the reverse lights on) the camera view was active.
      NOW the dealer says the truck is out of warranty and can't help!!
