Ok, so I have converted my 03-07 DL3 mirrors to the 99-02 plug so I can plug them in. In looking at my door harnesses, the plug for the mirror doesn't seem to be wired for the puddle lights (Missing the white wire in slot F). My question is how did you guys get the puddle light to function, if you didn't have the wire in your door harnesses?

Did you pin the door mirror harness for the puddle light? If so, does anyone have the wiring pinout for the door harness in a 99-02 so I can see where it goes to when it connects to the dash wiring?

Or did you tap a wire in the door (such as the door light itself or others?)

Also, what wires did you tap in the dash for the Escalade Power Fold Switch for Pin 1 (Switch Light), Pin 2 (Ground), and Pin 3 (Power)?

Thanks, Chad

Dug thru the FSM for 01. Found the luxury power window documentation, but nothing on the specifics of the wiring of the pool light.

Image is for the plug in the door on driver side. Two white wires. One controls the mirror mirror and the other for the light.

As to where it goes once in the wire harness and back to control , unknown. I would consider connecting to the circuit that controls interior lighting (includes timing for turn on and off based on key actions). If using normal light - might have to add relay/fuse to ensure the control signal is not overloaded. May be able to wire directly of using led.

As to your bump's. The request is very unique and likely never done before so no responses.a41cd02cd6dadca644746f042f4f674d.jpg

Thanks for the info. It is a pretty common mod, but I just can’t seem to find where people have tapped the Escalade switch for power, ground, and illumination in the dash wiring. I have the mirrors all re-pinned and good to go.

What all did you use to get the mirror plugs swapped out?

You will also have to build a separate 4 slot plug for the powerfold and turn signal functions. The plug above is only the power mirror portion.

I did this very same mod to my 99 Z71 many years ago.  I'll have to look up my notes as to where I got the folding switch connections (big layer of dust on those notes, lol!) but if my memory serves me correctly, illumination & ground I got from the headlight switch & for power I believe I tapped into a constant hot wire...but exactly where I got that one, I'll have to look to be sure.  I can tell you, though, that for the puddle lamps, the easiest way to hook them up is to just tap into the door courtesy light if yours has them, or to one of the under-dash lights.  That's what I did on mine, as there was no dedicated circuit for the puddle lamps as on the later / higher end trucks.

Dude that would be awesome if you could find those notes! I’d really appreciate it

Hey Chad, I have a 2000 sierra and I just got some dl3 mirrors off a 2003 Silverado. I'm trying to do the conversion to make them fit and work on my truck. Did you ever get it to work on your truck? I would appreciate if you could break down the parts I would need to make them work. My truck already has power windows but I would like to make the mirrors work 100% with power fold, turn signal and puddle lamps. Thanks.

I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4.
I purchased new power folding mirrors for a 2003 Silverado (aftermarket, not from GM) to replace my manual folding mirrors that only had power mirrors to adjust the direction of the mirrors. No heat(defrost) no turn signals, no power folding mirrors.
The new mirrors have the following options: power folding mirrors, power directional mirrors, defrost and turn signals.
I have been able to figure out the wiring for the power folding option, I have figured out how to wire the turn signal and defrost I think(orange and black wires-truck was wired for it, original mirrors didn't have the defrost option but the truck was wired for it..
Here is my dilemma... I'm unable to figure out how to wire in the directional movement of the mirror. This is the one option that worked on my old mirrors but now doesn't work on the new mirrors. Real nice right?
Anyway... I'm going to include some photos to help you help me. My old single black 8 pin harness only had three wires feeding the mirror. White, Green and Yellow. I used a test light and found that when using the directional power mirror switch on the door panel each wire was lit up by going through the different directions.
Hope I haven't lost you yet so please bare with me...
The new mirror came with a 10 pin black harness and a 10 pin blue harness. Nothing plugs in or matches up, why would it. I take on the most complicated projects most people wouldn't bother with because I love aggravation.
So I will include photos to show the wires of the blue and black harnesses.
Keep in mind, I figured out the turn signal wires, power folding wires, its the directional wires I'm having trouble with.
This is the hook up I tried and DID NOT WORK:
YELLOW FROM TRUCK HARNESS TO YELLOW ON THE NEW HARNESS
WHITE FROM TRUCK HARNESS TO LIGHT BLUE ON THE NEW HARNESS
GREEN FROM TRUCK HARNESS TO LIGHT GREEN ON THE NEW HARNESS.
You would think it was that easy, nope!! I reached out to the company that sold me these ebay aftermarket mirrors and they don't have a clue what all the wires go to or what they do. GOOD TIMES!
So my mirrors are useless. I hope someone has attempted this upgrade successfully and is willing to help me. I'm assuming there is a ground wire that I missed which is preventing the directional movement of the mirrors to work.
Or something else all together.
By the way, I hooked my original mirrors back up, re-wired everything up as it was prior to taking on this stupid ass project and sure enough everything works on the old mirror. MEANING I didn't blow a fuse or damage the directional switch on the door panel.
Any help would be awesome! Thx!
See attached photos.
