'85 K10 - SBC distributor issue?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hey everyone; looking for some help/advice.

Started my K10 build in 2010... engine went back in after paint, and never got 100% reassembled or running again.

My dilemma...

I put a new mechanical fuel pump on, and a new ignition switch on the column, however I do not get spark from the distributor, unless I put power straight from the battery to the distributor.

So therefore I assume I have a wiring issue, or a fuse issue, from the main panel to the distributor?

Fuses look good... but I can't find the wire issue; if that is in fact what it is.

When I take power from the battery straight to the distributor, I can turn the key, fire it up, and drive just fine, and shut it off via key. 100% normal operations.

Thoughts?

The fault may be from the power switch
Make sure the fuse panel is all working and be careful not to tune a temporary wire because it will ignite the risk of fire
