Had the exact problem... Shortened it down to a 21" from Antenna Source. Came with a required adapter, which increased the height another inch or two, but still did the job. :) https://www.theantennasource.com/CHEVROLET/SILVERADO PICKUP/Silverado 2014-2019.html

I bought this one from Amazon.  Works great and all the stations in my area come in great.  But I do have to say currently I have Sirius so dont use the antenna much.  But I did  drive around town and test it out, got it for mainly looks, but it does work great!

I first bought the bullet style because of looks & price but reception was horrible. I ended buying 1 of these. They have copper internals and now reception is great!

Are you satisfied with this antenna?  How is it compared to the stock as for reception?

Very satisfied!! Still getting all the stations FM & AM. I do live near a major city so that also helps with reception. But I also drive out to the valley a lot where it’s mostly farm land and im still able to get their local stations

I removed my antenna and was planning to replace it with a stub, turns out, my reception is still perfect without it ??‍♂️

lol you got me.  This morning while my USB stick was indexing after it lost its mind, I decided to try the FM button.  Haven't had my antenna attached for months now.

Nope!  No good here, but that was expected.

Most truck's are shipped with out the antenna on ( antenna laying in the cab ) ,  Dealership cleans them up / take Photo's and then they add the antenna , then it ready to sell $$$$$$$
