New windshield and wind noise

Recommended Posts

Back in November, I had my cracked original windshield replaced on my '05 Sierra. Safelite mobile service to the rescue....everything seemed to go well, I hadn't driven the truck out of town and/or at interstate speeds until a couple of days ago. I noticed a significant uptick in wind noise on the lower passenger side of the windshield. Seemed to be worse at some times and quiet at others, but never an issue prior to the windshield being replaced. Moldings/trim around the exterior of the windshield appear solid and well sealed; weatherstrip at door seems fine. I did notice the trim around the glass was new, it has a slightly higher profile than the OEM trim did, but seems to fit well.  I have a "30 day" notification window that has passed (where I could notify Safelite of an issue) but I emailed them anyway.  My insurance also has a "satisfaction guarantee" for their preferred vendors (Safelite) so it shouldn't be a problem, but curious if anyone had any experience, ideas, etc.  in the meantime.

I've had 4 or 5 windshields replaced in my 40 years of driving but first issue I've come across.

Thanks!

Sometimes the urethane doesn't set right or gets too flat. I see it all the time. They will fix it for sure. I would keep it out of the rain untill it is fixed though. If not you could run into an issue where the water gets in the vehicle in the dash and shorts different things out. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. They will fix it.

if you need anything else let me know how I can help!
