Connect iPod in jump seat lockbox to storage compartment USB?

I have an old iPod that I use for music and WiFi connection to my dashcam.  I'd like to keep the iPod in the lock box of my front jump seat and run a firewire up to the USB in the storage compartment below the arm rest.  Here are pictures of my quick and dirty solution.

 

Any ideas or thoughts on a way to better tuck or run the wire?  This is for a 2018 Silverado LT with 40/20/40 front seats.

That's actually pretty slick.  Maybe look for a cable with a braided gray cover that blends in a little better and might be a little more durable.
