Hi guys,

I took my 2018 1500 Silverado out on the trails yesterday and used 4 high for the first time (only on dirt snowy trails) when it’s in 4 high and I’m moving it makes kind of a growling noise. Nothing super loud but enough to hear it. I didn’t try it in 4 low so idk if it makes it in that mode, also this is my first 4x4 truck.

Thanks

I have a 2018 Sierra and was recently in snow at a ski resort driving around town in 4wd for a few days and noticed the added noise when in 4wd. I thought it was a little strange but I think it’s normal for these trucks.

+3 on NORMAL

GM Truck/Suv 4x4 drivetrains have sounded and performed like this since the 1999 GMT 800 AutoTrac 4wd  introduction.
