Howdy!  I’m considering a 2016 2500HD 6.0l 4x4. Crew cab, long bed work truck. I have 2013 crew cab 1500 5.3l. Will be getting a travel trailer to pull and have a buddy who’s daughter rides horses. May use it to pull a horse trailer, too. Really like my truck, but may want to upgrade for pulling and that seems to be my thing. Since my first truck being a single cab(‘01), to an extended cab (‘07),  to my now crew cab. The ‘16 has 77k miles and asking $30k. What could be pros and cons to the “new” style from ‘13?

Thanks for your input.

One con would be fuel mileage if that matters to you. The half tons will get 5-7mpg more on the freeway than the much heavier 3/4 ton with a larger engine. Expect mid teens for sure.

The underside to me is super solid, it's basically all the same since like 2011+. The 6L90e is a awesome transmission, gassers get 4.10's from the factory too.

My 2016 is much quieter than my 2012, just a better cab design for wind noise. I like the interior as well compared to my old truck. I'd suggest driving a few or at least one to see if you like how large they are and if you like how they drive.

I plan on test driving it, too. To get a feel for the difference. Curious if the price is comparable to the mileage and such.
