Hey guys, I just purchased a 2018 Silverado LTZ Z71 in midnight edition. Only 14k miles on it! I am beyond stoked and excited for it, I haven't even taken delivery of it yet.

With that said, I really like the fender flares on the GMC Sierra, and really wish the Silverado's had it. I would like to replicate that appearance with my Silverado. Which flare more accurately mimic's the Sierra? The Putco Fender Trim or the  Molded GM Fender Flares

I look forward to hearing your responses, I have been lurking for about a year now. But with a purchase of a truck, I think its time to join the discussion lol.

I bought a set of the Bushwhacker OE style, for pretty much the same reasons you noted. They are at the body shop for paint match. I will update once they’re installed. They appear to be a nice product so far.

Lol that's exactly what I was thinking...

Yeah the flares look good, but fairly thick. Does anyone have experience with the Putco trim panels in comparison? Or any other brand which is similar in style?

I don't think your going to find any GMC style flares for a Chevy. The fender for the GMCs is molded at the wheel wells completely different than the Chevy's.

i bought the putco fender molding and they are junk. the rear fenders where ok but the front fender i could not get them to sit tight against the fender, which left large gaps to fill up with crap

Second time I’ve seen this type comment in regards to the Putco moulding.

In regards to the aftermarket flares being wider and overall bigger. I agree. But, without the recess into the actual fender, you’re not going to get a smaller flare that fits tight like the GMC. I looked at a lot of them. The only one I’ve not seen IRL is the small plastic one with a ton of stainless screw-heads on each piece.

The Bushwacker ones were the best compromise for me.

The Chevy flares widen the look of the truck so you’d probably want a wider stance on your wheels as well.  I changed to a +1 offset.
