For those of you who complain about the Chev interior

Recommended Posts

I had a 2018 Ram 1500 before I bought my 2019 Silverado.  I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the interior of the Chevy but I’m here to tell you, the Ram is a nightmare.  First off, the infotainment system constantly had problems.  It wouldn’t start or it would reboot in the middle of driving.  If I plugged my phone in, it would sometimes freeze up not allowing me to adjust the air, volume or any other controls (super fun in the middle of winter). My truck would be completely off and the radio would magically turn on blasting music in the middle of the night.  The interior of the new Ram is no different, beautiful in pictures but cheap to the touch. That’s ultimately what made me switch to Chevy.  Here is a clip of what it’s like inside the Ram ?

Coming from a Ford F-150, I think the interior is great and feels better too. That's the way it should be. Ford felt a little too cheap but everything worked all the time without failing me. I seem to have quite a bit more electronic gremlins in my Chevy.

I still will not consider a Ram truck, have listened to many regretful owners so that's out.

I don't think the interior quality sucks. I just think the centre stack design is a step in the wrong direction. It's just seems unfinished IMO, looks like a "**** it, that'll do".

I drive at work two 2018 F-150 ‘s, one is a 5.0 and other an EcoBoost 3.5.  I honestly believe there interior is the cheapest of the big 3.  The centre stack looks like it belongs in a cube van, sorry just my honest opinion.  The 19 GM interior looks great with materials looking of good quality, although I’ve never actually sat in one.  I also believe the Ram is just way too much over kill with that 12” touch screen display, (whatever it is).interior looks great, nice looking truck but I’m constantly hearing about recalls as well.  Can’t begin to imagine what it would cost to replace or repair out of warranty...?

My feeling as well. It's the design, not the quality of the materials or fit and finish that's the problem. Oh well, I still liked it enough to buy one.

Love the 19 interior. As far as Ram infotainment issues, well guys that is an industry wide thing, these new audio units, in all makes, have lots of quirks and issues. Daily thing at work as  Subaru tech.
