Dual wheel 3500- Landscaping and Snow Plowing Vehicle...

Recommended Posts

Looking to buy new 3500 DRW pickup where DRW used 3 seasons (for heavy towing loads) and remove outer rear wheels for snow plowing. Anyone with experience doing this? Concren is will axle interfere with curbs, Belgian blocks etc? Standard pickup body will be replace with custom alum body now on GMC 2500. So, fenders are not a concern. Any input appreciated.

If your plow is wide enough to cover the full axle width, you shouldn't need to get any closer to curbs. Lots of people plow with dually landscape trucks around here.

As a dually owner, who does snow removal (but not plowing with the truck), it was ridiculously easy for the truck to get stuck before I installed a 4wd system in the truck.  Switching it to SRW for the winter would give you better traction on snow and ice, in general vs DRW.

Or load up the back with lots of sand.
