Will 4l60e from a 97 blazer work in a 2004 blazer?

Changed them over and getting shift solenoid code. Have replaced both a and b solenoids but still have to change gears manually, didn't have this problem prior to change.

Should be a good swap. Sounds like a possible communication issue. Had you checked all the connections and verified none of the pins were pushed out on the connectors? PCM should toss a code or possibly is missing power.
