Apple CarPlay update iOS 13 issue?

Call me needy but I wish the outside temp would still show when you have Car Play up.

Agree 100%. That’s the first thing I looked for when I saw the new screen.

Mine won’t show what’s playing on the split screen. The box is there, but no track info or picture. Works fine when I tap on it [emoji2371]

Mistake!  That is not Waze.  I thought it was because, as you can see, the Waze icon is on the top on the left side.  However, I realized today, when I put in an address into Waze, that what's showing on the split screen is not Waze.  Sorry for any misdirection.

You can still use either one on CarPlay. Just has to be full screen.

I agree.  I use Waze through Apple CarPlay all the time.  Works just like, if not better than, having a nav unit from the factory.

I just updated to 13.1 on my iPhone 6S, and then tried carplay with the Pioneer AVH4000NEX I've installed in my truck, and it gives me the same screen as GN2018 posted a couple of posts up from here.  It gives the same screen if I use google maps instead of apple's Map app (and can then go to full-screen).

My or my wife’s new iPhones 11 (iOS 13) won’t work right. 
most of the time it won’t go from “projection” to CarPlay using a few different cables. 
 

old phone (iPhone X) never had a problem

I primarily have problems if the cable doesn't fully plug into the phone.  Things that can do this include:

-a case the phone is in

-a cheap cable

-crap in the port in the phone (I have to periodically clean out the port in my iPhone)
