Headlights too bright?

Interesting. I never get flashed and I have the LED's and I think my lights are too high. If you are "being flashed so often", your headlights are not aimed correctly.

 

"Hitting them back on a seconds notice"? So not only are you already blinding the person coming AT YOU, you turn your high beams on to show them who's boss. Great idea. Don't take into consideration that the other person is just trying to see the road ,and unless they are flashing everybody on the highway, your headlights are the problem. And due to "being flashed so often", apparently more than one driver thinks so.

As I mentioned they’ve been checked...twice actually.  Back when I started driving and people actually took responsibility for their own plight instead of blaming others, I was taught that if someone’s lights are blinding you, pick a point on the side of the road and focus on it to alleviate the problem...and don’t flash someone to correct them.

Pretty easy to follow the fog line on the road considering that's what its for, a point of reference when front vision isn't the greatest... I got flashed stock and still leveled in my 16' sierra. If my lights are bright and you flash me is that other car not blinding me? Two wrongs don't make a right. I'm of the opinion that people just see the led color and assume bright scary lights. If bright lights truly bother you, get a script and tint ya windows! 

 

As for the 14/15 model year trucks. I traded trucks with my pops for a day a few weeks back and I drove his at night and holy crap are they awful compared to my 16' even with the fogs on! will be looking into retrofitted some better bulbs in for him!

Does he have a Sierra? If so look into retrofitting the 16+ lights in there for him. I did when I had mine. Also, if you're interested I have done LED light pods for the fog lights on the 14/15 Sierra's They are basically plug and play the way I have it setup.

You aren't "hitting them" with anything, they already see your brights. If they are flashing you they see your full beam since there is a shutter in the light. So you trying to be a hardass is just further illuminating the trees, they don't see any difference. You could have the best eyes in the world, getting hit in the face with an HID or LED has nothing to do with sensitive eyes, no one can look in to that without issue...

16 they made all the changes. The 14/15 lights weren't that bad, one of my good friends who we would routinely switch driving to gatherings had a 15 Sierra and I had my 14 LT Silverado, not much difference. I am guessing you never had a vehicle with sealed beam headlights before?

I did/do. I own a 3rd gen F-body. Even those were better than the garbage they put in the 14/15 Sierra's. GM knew it too. They swapped the bulbs and did a BCM update (they increased the voltage to the lights) to try and make it better. None of it worked.

I own both a 14 Silvy and a 15 Sierra. There is no question which one had better lights. I didn't put an $250 set of aftermarket HID's in the Silvy, and that was after having the bulb output boosted from GM. And my Sierra is SLT and the Silvy is a WT. Big jump in trims. The projector beam does not change the brightness of the light, it only cuts the beam off at a certain point. Your bulbs are still putting out, say, 3,000 Lumens in low or high, its just the shutter for the projector cuts off the beam. When approaching vehicles are under that cut off line, it just looks like your brights are on even when they aren't. See my sick diagram on Page 5 to see what I mean.
