Hello, I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, It has a 5.3L V8 Vortec engine with 288,000 miles on it. It has 265/75/R16 AT tires, Things that are original include 6/8 ignition coils, MAF sensor, fuel injectors, serpentine belt, ect sensor (ive heard of problems?) Things that have been done to the truck since I got it include Radiator and water pump, hoses, heater hoses, Spark plugs and wires, fuel pump and O2’s in October 2017. 2 new ignition coils (The other 6 are stock) Oil changes/new air filters, Valve cover gaskets, (Used Throttle body cleaner and MAF cleaner about 1.5 years ago)
When I 1st bought the truck in late 2016 was getting around 13-15 hwy which was good for me at the time. About 6 months in, the fuel economy started to decline, though it was not overly concerning to me yet, but within the last 6 months (around September of 2019) it took a hard hit. What was a decent economy, I only get 9 or 10 miles a gallon on the freeway, and don’t even get me started about the atrocity that is city driving. However, I have noticed that my Long-Term Fuel Trim on both banks is anywhere from 14-18% no matter when I check it, hot or cold, idling or at 2000RPM. No one has been able to give me any direction on how to recover any mpg's so far. I use the truck for work daily, I do a lot of driving, but still, it shouldn’t be so low! I just need some guidance here, as to where to (re)start as for fixing this thing. Thank you so so much if anyone has any types of input. Please help! somebody!
Hello, I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Crew Cab 5.3L, no aftermarket parts or wiring in it, all stock.
I had ice on my windshield this morning, not thinking i tried to use my wipers and washer fluid to defrost my windshield. The wipers did not move at all due to the ice, so i turned turned the wiper switch back to the off position. After chipping the ice away, the wipers started in the constant low speed setting and would not stop! Tried turning the truck off but they stayed on. I disconnected the battery and reconnected but the issue continued, so i pulled the fuse as a temporary fix. Does anyone know what this could be??
To my understanding it could be the wiper pulse board, fuse box, or the wiper switch arm. The turn signals and washer fluid still work fine so i don't believe it would be the wiper switch arm.
I have checked online and it seems that others have had this issue but it happened randomly, so i'm hoping that since my problem seems to be directly from using the wipers when they were stuck, it may be an easy diagnosis.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
By Platinum LBZ
Hello! New to this site and I know this is Probly old news. I swapped out the interior of my 2006 LBZ with a 2005 Escalade platinum which is much nicer than the stock LT trim package. Last week I finally picked up the complete interior wire harness from a parts Escalade that I bought and parted out, the first platinum that donated the interior, the harness had been cut. So finally the heated and cooled bucket seats, (front and back) will work. Yes buckets out back are awesome! Along with the heated and cooled cup holders! Also headrest monitors for the kids! Anyhow just thought I would share in case anyone wants to or tries the swap. Make sure to get a complete harness for the interior. The Escalade packs a big upgrade from the stock Chevy harness. It doesn’t have all the wiring and the pin outs would drive you mad!
Hey new here, I have a 07 NBS Silverado 4.8 4x4 that has a no Crank no start issue. Never had this issue usually starts right up. So drove to the gas station one night recent and Midway got a reduced engine power and died, would not start back up at all, had it towed and have been checking certain things battery, starter, fuses I've read alot on here and other sites. I figured maybe some insight to my case would be of help. I don't hear a click at all when trying to start it simply does nothing. I've tried a new battery , I've checked cables power and ground cables. Checked mega fuse and lightly checked relays kinda new to the checking relays other fuses I've checked for continuity and they check out fine. I've read about a security issue maybe but I don't have the indicator on my gauge. Anyways any insight is greatly appreciated , I miss this truck it's one string running engine and has got me and my family by for many years.
