2014 Silverado won’t drop into 4 cylinder mode

If your AFM is just not functioning properly, and you want that feature, I would take it in to get looked at. You can just disable AFM all together with a tune, which is a really popular change that people make to their vehicles. Technically AFM is a fuel saver for the 14+ vehicles, but people still cant stand it, especially if you have bigger wheels and tires, or can't stand the sound with your exhaust. I have it disabled on my 14 5.3 and have not really noticed a difference fuel economy wise.

Help!

Hint: AFM is load based.

I find a huge difference in fuel efficiency  and have gone to great lengths to keep it active as much as possible WITHOUT changing the tune nor the parameters it operates by. Just finding ways to loose load demand. This time of year it's pretty hard to keep it active if you live anywhere north.
