Steering wheel controls not working 2007 Suburban

Richard Santowski

Question

I just replaced the multi-function turn signal switch in 2007 Suburban 1500 because the high beams would go on every time I engaged the right turn signal indicator.  However, now that the new switch is working properly, I noticed that neither the steering wheel controls (volume, channel change, cruise control settings, etc.) nor the horn work.  I have seen some posts related to potential issue with the clock spring.  Before going down the clock spring replacement path, might there be an easier solution?  Is there a way to reset the clock spring without having to replace it?

If the problem happened right after the MF switch replacement, I'd bet 10-to-1 a wire got pinched, or something was left unplugged, or a wire broke in half at a connector. I'd retrace your steps and take a close look at all the wires coming from those switches.
