Automatic Parking Brake?

Recommended Posts

I have a 21 blazer and the parking brake is starting to engage itself. The 1st couple f times it happened I was parked on a slight hill so I thought it was a safety feature, but now it is happening more often, even when I am not parked on a hill. The first time it happened was about 3 months after I bought it. It does not disengage itself, I have to manually shut it off.

My Truck does this as well. Sometimes it will  engage itself if I'm parked on level grand and hooking the trailer to its bumper. The bouncing around can cause it.. But sometimes it will just do so to test itself is my uneducated  guess  .

oops I mean hooking trailer to HER !! Bumper..

If you put it in gear and push on the throttle it will disengage. My 17 impala and 20 blazer and 21 silverado all disengage on their own after shifting and applying light throttle.

I noticed if I was throwing stuff in and out of the bed of my truck it would automatically engage
