Question

The transmission has been solid.no slips.been real strong.the other night I came out of store and when I started it the speedometer went to 80+ mph then slowly came back down when I shifted into gear it was normal.two other stops same exact thing.I drove 15 miles with no problem and parked.next day I had no speedometer and only 1st and 2nd gear.I changed speed sensor and no change

1994 GMC sierra c1500.my wife has stage three Brest Cancer and I have to get her to doctors every week.knowing it was most likely electronic issue I replaced speed sensor.checked the wires then in desperation I cut the harness and wired three switches.one for converter and one each to shift solenoids.thus turning it from 4L60e(electronic) to 4L60m(me control).I will continue to look for wire issue.last night I had speedometer back for about 10 miles then it quit again
