8.1 ltr oil dipstick check

rennevat

Question

Just bought a used motorhome with 8.1 ltr engine.  Dip stick is extra long to accomidate being in motorhome.  It reads (when cold) quite a bit over the full mark.  This normal?? I know some engines have this observation, but fall into correct rage when in normal operation temperature.  Have not had a chance to check in normal operating temperature.  Thanks.

I would say it’s overfilled. Remove oil until it’s in the correct area. Start the vehicle, warm it up an recheck.
