KO2’s Continue to impress me

Recommended Posts

Sadly cracking is one of the ko2's down falls. Its a concern in many of the reviews. Heck mine started cracking up before I swapped them. Hell they dont need much sipling cause the crack will suffice. Lol. Seriously most of the reviews said it doesnt effect the drivability of the tires.

I’ve never had cracking on my KO’s or KO2’s, I usually switch them out before I get cracks. I was checking the tire calculator and it came back as an error, I’m reading 7111 on his DOT code, can’t be, first two numbers are the number of the week and last two is the year.

Can you please take a pic of another tire, or retake the pic of the numbers on your tire, the four numbers 7111 I read off your pic are not correct.

Okay I think I'm fk.

One tire out the 4 has a different #

40th wk of 2016 the rest is #71st Wk of 2011.

From what I gather 3 tires is dated 2011
1 tire dated 2016

Weren’t the KO2’s first manufactured in 2014 and there are only 52 weeks in a year so why would it say 71st week of 2011, something definitely is not adding up, did they come on the vehicle when you bought it or you had them installed somewhere?

They’re past their warranty stage anyway, age is the reason for them cracking, definitely start looking into replacing them ASAP.

Btw, “IF” you bought them at Walmart or Costco that would explain it cause they’re notorious for selling close to expiration dates and got in trouble for it too.

Are you now looking for new tires, if so I’d recommend thinking about what you’re going to be using your truck for as well as how you’d like your truck to look. If you’re mostly highway and a bit off road then the Cooper ATP is a great tire that won’t break the bank
8be3fe66edb2e1367bbbffee01338ab2.jpg along with the Falken Wildpeak AT3 141e51f5538d9a14afc446879be79b43.plistwhich are rated for snow too. It all depends on your needs, weather conditions, light OffRoad or heavy or just focused on mpg’s which then you’d look more at a Michelin Defenders LTX 994752e7c127b148218ed4dc86e14c88.jpg

And of course there’s the King BFG KO2’s lol

I’ve got 40 k miles on them.  When I got my truck inspected the other day they said 7/32 of tread left.

Today I got called into work during the worst part of today’s  winter storm. PennDOT was just starting to plow roads, but 70% of my journey was untouched.  I shut traction control off and made the whole 17 mile trek in 2wd without any issues.  I was doing the speed limit or better as long as no one was ahead of me.  I couldn’t ask for better traction.

I didn't care much for them, but they did last a good long while. I finally replaced mine in December with a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W's and so far I love them. How are things in Beaver County? Snowy obviously.
