No 6 speed for 2004 on GM 2500hd/3500 wtf?

Went by the $tealer today to get a price on a 04 3500 d/6 speed, and he went into the computer, and it said that they 6 speed was no longer available--only the allison. Any Ideas?

Just got off the Chevrolet.com web site. The ZF S6-650 is still available. It is RPO ML6. Although it is only available with the Base, or LS trim packages, and not the LT trim package. This is the way this transmission was offered since 2001, and remains this way for 2004. Did the salesman check this out for you? In my experiences the only prior sales credentials required to get a dealership sales position is to prove you could sell hamburgers. Alot of these guys are really inexperienced when it comes to the big trucks, and misinform the public, which is unfortunate. -now that you have your ammo go order your truck!!

Thats what I thought, but he said he went through it several times, and the compter wouldnt allow him to select it. He said that it changed between 03 and 04 for some reason. On a side note, the reason that I'm buying another truck is that my 1500 was totaled yesterday, because some ****ing moron decided that they wanted to make a left turn from the RIGHT hand lane.

That is too bad about the 1500. If your salesman couldn't find the info on his computer maybe it is smarter than he is.

I noticed on your sig that you have amber drls- my truck really gets a lot of looks with it's GREEN drls

BTW were you able to save the HD hood, and roof marker lamps?

I just found out that the other driver's insurance decided that they want to fix my truck, but as soon as I get it back, im still trading it in. The hood, and roof marker lamps were not damaged, all the damage was to the passenger side.
