If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

All the computers in the Denali work in a system for the truck to operate.  Besides getting the engine & transmission into the truck, you also have to basically transfer over the dash and wiring harness over as well, so your ODBII port works and to have a working instrument panel.

Can you do it?  Yes.

But it's having a truck worth $2k, putting $10k into it, and in the end, having a truck worth $3k.

That's a little bit of wrong information here.

All you need to run the 6.0 away from it's original chassis is the PCM, engine/trans wiring harness with OBD2 port, pedal assembly and TAC module.

The engine does not care that the BCM, cluster, dash wiring or anything of that junk in there.

The only that has to be done prior to starting the engine is disabling the computers anti theft systems otherwise known as VATS. At this same time you'd "handle" all emissions related codes/faults to make it all happy with no error codes.

If he wants the factory cluster and gauges to function he will need the BCM and dash wiring for everything. If he doesn't care about that stuff he can buy aftermarket gauges or buy the digital dashs available through Racepack, holley performance, Dakota Digital, AEM, Edge Insight CTS2 plus a few more.

With an aftermarket tuner.

HP Tuners or EFI Live can disabled VATS.
