NHTSA Investigation

Just found this item this morning. It looks like something may come of the problems everyone has been encountering with the cables breaking.

Hopefully the pasted link will work. It's just a blurb regarding NHTSA opening the investigation due to 16 reported failures and 5 injuries. Maybe everyone who has had a failure should jump on the bandwagon and report it to NHTSA!

I can't pull up that URL, but if NHTSA is investigating something which has only caused 5 reported injuries with hundreds of thousands of units sold, then business must be awful d**n slow for NHTSA!:cool::lol::D:sleep:

with all the flack the NHTSA caught for not investigating the Ford/Firestone crisis earlier, it doesn't surprise me one bit that they're on their toes these days ;)

Cool, I'm all for a recall, it'll mean I get mine replaced for free
