Hey guys hoping y’all could give me some insight on the custom trail boss 5.3 6 speed 3.42 gears with it’s towing if anyone has this model and tows with it let me know how it felt to y’all. I’m going to tow my buddies jeep Cherokee to His home state which is about 700 miles. Will probably go through some hills and mountains in TN. Does the the power train struggle with towing because of the 32 inch durratracs?

Yeah but that’s the 5.3 10 speed two different animals I have the 5.3 6 speed. As well the gear ratio is like 3.23 or something like that.

AH, didn't see the difference between the 2. You shouldn't have a problem. The Jeep is lighter weight and less wind resistance.

My 2016/2018 5.3 6 speed 3:42 pull this beast wit zero issues.  You will have no issues.  I've also pulled few cars on my friends trailer no issues.

So the newer tucks should be as good if not a bit better.

That’s awesome ?? I don’t do a lot of towing. Which is why I got the trail boss but I wish they gave out 3.73 gears for the heavier tires. But honestly I don’t feel any loss of power in my truck. Maybe because the 2019 models are 400 pounds lighter.

If you're taking I-26 from SC to TN and aren't real familiar with that route, I can offer a few tips. Number 1 pull off at milepost 5 in SC to gas up before crossing into NC, gas much cheaper in SC, there's a Pilot/Flying J on your right with lots of room to maneuver with a trailer. Once you get into NC and across that gorge bridge, it's really a steep pull into the mountains until you get to Hendersonville,  wouldn't be surprised if you wouldn't be down to 3rd gear or just use tow/haul. There are truck lanes in the steepest parts if you need to use them so take your time, and keep an eye on your transmission temperature, shouldn't be an issue this time of year. Once your past Asheville, NC on your way to TN it should be smooth sailing. Sorry if I'm just regurgitating info you already know.

Hello all, My Sway bar was hitting my CV axle, as the title says. So I crawled under some trucks at the dealer to see what stock trucks are like and it turns out that the new TB/AT4's have longer end links then my 2020 TB. The new end link has a 3 inch rod vs the 1-3/4 inch OE part.

The part number for the longer end link is P/N:85590925

Truck friends! I am looking to find an OEM rear bumper for my trail boss. Looks like someone bumped mine and although most don't notice it, its driving me crazy. I am looking for a used one that someone pulled from their truck or a decently priced OEM retailer. I've called around and it seems no one has stock in salvage yards yet of these trucks. Any help would be great!

Good evening, I have 2020 Chevy Trailboss 1500 5.3 I recently ran into the issue of the water pump pulley breaking and wanted to see if anybody knows if it’s possible to just change out the pulley or would I have to change out the whole water pump?

I had the original motor completely rebuilt and when put back into my truck it will start and run but once you shut it off it will only crank but not start. Usually a hour later it will start again. . Any help I would appreciate it.

What suggestions or advice is available for buying a GMC | Chevy truck? What should I watch out for -- the GOOD and BAD?

I want to come back to the GMC | Chevy family. For over 20 years, we owned a 98 GMC Suburban, putting over 230k miles on it myself, and I LOVED that truck. Other than typical wear and tear -- I never had any problems or issues with my Suburban.

I am looking at 2016-2022 -- GMC | Chevy 1500 | 2500 series, all trims (4x4), except the base models. My budget is around $35k plus'ish; yes, I understand my budget limits what I can get. I am a USAF retired veteran living off a fixed income.

Yes, we tow hitch pull RVs and various trailers, but not as often as before. What are the GOOD, BAD, and UGLY these days on the GMC | Chevy trucks? Is the additional price for either diesel and/or 2500 worth it?

SHORT STORY: so, a few years ago, I bought a 2015 Ram 1500 4x4 EcoDiesel 6cyl w/turbo Lonestar -- well, I have been disappointed with Chrysler | Fiat (FCA). They lied about the EcoDiesel, and after forced recall ECM updates, they sucked all performance and mpg from the truck. Buying a newish GMC | Chevy, I do not want to fall into what happened with my 2015 Ram. When I had my suburban, I never had so many recalls, been lied to, and never had poor performance.

Thanks for any suggestions that you will provide -- Gary (ExFalconFxr)
