Neutral not highlighting on gear indicator, 02 chevy avalanche 4L60E

recently replace my transmission in my 02 chevy avalanche z71, which is a 4wd. on the shift indicator, it will show each gear when put into that gear except for neutral. its like it highlights P, R and goes back to R then to P when going to N. then Going into D 3 2 1, all of these highlight as should. it just does not highlight N like it should. the transmission shifts with no problems. the computer won't read neutral so I can't use my 4wd, although the "Auto 4WD" works when it is needed. I need help because I normally have to use the 4wd quite a bit when working on the farms
