Stiff steering after new box and pump

Recommended Posts

97 Gmc suburban k1500. Steering box blew out seals. Replaced steering box with reman unit from O’Reillys. Steering is stiff. I have some power steering but nothing like it was. I used to be able to steer with one finger. I replaced the pump next and made sure the lines were good and clear. All new fluid and purged all air. Still stiff. More stiff To left. Also installed new pitman arm. Is there a chance I have the castle nut at the pitman arm crossover too tight?

thanks.
