All chrome everything on 2017 LT summit white silverado?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, was just wondering how you guys felt about chrome on a white 2017 lt silverado. I am talking about chrome on both bumpers, mesh grill chromed, mirrors, handles, and wheels. I have seen a few down the road that are all chromed out and oh boy do they look SHINY and Blingy when the sun hits them. Makes the truck stand out way more, which i love. What is your guys preferance? Personally i hate the color matched grills, makes for a very subtle look, looks fine i guess. I want to chrome out my mesh grill, mirrors and handles. I’ll post a pic of mine and a pic of one with a chromed out grill. Which one looks better? One on top is mine.

To each his own...when I bought my '10, it was the chrome that caught my eye.  After a few months, I hated the look of the chrome and wound up getting some color matched handles and mirror caps

I'd say to each their own also since I bought a midnight edition 2016. But I agree with poster above because I want to throw maybe some chrome 20s on mine and maybe the chrome chaining grille on it. But that would look good. I had a pearl white high country in mind reading your post

Like dsr611 said, to each their own. Everyone has their preference. On the right vehicles, I think chrome looks sharp and makes the vehicle stand out with a little bit of a luxurious touch.

Me, however, I can't stand chrome on my own vehicles. It always comes off. I'm a blacked out kind of guy. Last 3 vehicles (current truck included) had no chrome and if it did, it was replaced with black. I took off my chrome Z71 door emblems and rear tailgate emblems and replaced them with Redline emblems. The only chrome I have (well, it's not "chrome") is the silver around the black Chevy logos. ?

I like the color matched look but I don’t mind some chrome. I think the color matched bumpers, especially in front make the truck look better. Issue with that is rock chips.

My 2018 SLT 6.2 max tow has the standard chrome bumpers, door handles and trim. Going to leave it.

What does bother me is the door rocker is exposed and easily gets scratched when people exit and enter truck. I’ve “reminded” my passengers to not slide their foot when exiting and entering on the paint but it still happens. Since GM put anti chip paint there, I can’t put 3m clear tape over it.

My truck is white so I can get almost all of the shoe marks and scuffs out with some wax.

Precious generations, doors cover most of the rocker. I added chrome on bottom to cover rock chips from being 23 years old. And it matches chrome bumper line.

The chrome looks nice, but I'm old school and it seems the younger generation prefers no chrome. Anyway, I vote go for the chrome!

My grill is black like your existing grill, but my truck is black, so maybe it's not as noticable. Your black grill seems to stand out a bit more since your truck is white. Don't get me wrong, your truck is still beautiful in my view!

Here's mine:

When I was shopping for my 2018 I was looking at High Country's because I wanted a 6.2. However I didn't want the Brown interior and the only ones I could find with the black interior were 5.3's. I ended up finding this loaded LTZ with a 6.2 and swapped to a high country grill and painted bumpers to get what I wanted. I just felt the chrome front bumper made the chrome overwhelming.
