New tires rubbing with 2” level, what size fits??

Recommended Posts

Need some help, I just installed 285/65/20 BFG KO2’s on my 209 Sierra with 2” level and they are rubbing the mud flap and back fender well bad. I removed the bracket and pulled back the fender liner but still rub more than I want.

I think I am going to switch to a 285/60/20 or a 275/65/20.  Does anyone have experience with these sizes on a Sierra?  I want zero run and not willing to cut the mud flap.

I appreciate any help.

I’ve got 275/65R20 K02’s on my Sierra with no rubbing. I’m running the AT4 lift though.  Your 2” level should have same effect though as far as tire fitment

Thank you for the feedback, that is very helpful.  Do you mind sharing a picture?

I have the exact truck!  I have a 1.5" level with 275/60 bfg's and HD Gator Back Mudflaps. My tires sometimes rub on the bolt heads holding on the flaps at full lock.

BTW which in channel visors are those?   I tried the AVS ones and couldn't get them to work.

They are the AVS ones, I had some trouble with the edges stopping the window so I super glued the edges in place in the channel and have worked great since.

I am hitting that same bolt head so not much I can do except take it out I suppose.

I ran 295/60r20 on my elevation with stock rims with a 2” upper strut level and no rubbing or trimming required. Didn’t have to take the bracket out. I also ran ridge grapplers and they are well within the actual spec for a 295/60. Some tires run big even though they say they’re a certain size.
