Choices in powertrain and cab/box combos are a good thing to have.

4 versions/trims announced.

The 1000HP version is $112,000....but reservations for that one are already full.

(but you can reserve another level and be waitlisted for the Edition1)

Completely agree. It makes Tesla's truck look like a foolish, futuristic flop (IMO).

GM is putting out a truck that looks like a relatively normal futuristic truck, but with incredible performance numbers and serious off-roading capacities.

Plus, the tech on that truck gets me excited for future GM light duty trucks!

Starting price for Tesla is 39k though so that’s definitely gonna hurt GM when a buyer (who is not a loyal enthusiast like most on the forums) is deciding between the two.

We are comparing the Tesla Model X not the model 3 . Why would he compare a model 3 to a truck ?  The X is the biggest thing they have now and don't think for a single second their Cyber Truck will be cheaper then the X .

I’m am talking about the cybertruck not even the model X. There are 3 price points for it. 39k, 49k, and 69k. And I’ll add that the tri-motor has better specs than the hummer (range and 0-60).

Will the Cyber truck have off road chops ? Come with 37s? have 15 inches of ground clearance ? I like the Cyber truck too ( the thinking behind it anyway , not so much the looks)

16 inch ground clearance with adjustable air suspension riding on custom 35s I think made by Goodyear from Tesla design.

I didn’t like the truck design at first but it grew on me.

The Cybertruck is cheaper but then you'd have to look at it everyday. Yikes. Plus it isn't very good at actually being a truck.

I think GM did a great job here. Yes, it's expensive... and it's already sold out for the first year. This is the reality of where fully electric vehicles are for now. This is what is costs to sell a truck that is as capable as what we're driving now (more, actually), fully electric, and reliable until economies of scale start catching up to the EV market.

Can you elaborate on how you think it’s more capable than what we are driving now? And specifically how that translates to its pice tag.

I must say the Hummer EV looks nice - way, way, way better than the Cybertruck.

Should be fun to see how this truck and the Rivian do in terms of sales.

That being said, 100K price tag for an electric vehicle is way too rich for me.

I'll stick with my ICE 6.2L chevy for the time being :)

Does anyone else think that 350 mile range under ideal conditions is pretty low for a truck considering that any off-roading or pulling of trailers will easily cut the range in half or more?
A 175 mile range while towing isn’t great at all, and no matter what features your truck has, 2 hour run time is severely lacking.

You say the Cyber Truck is ugly which I agree with, however that’s completely subjective. Then you say it’s not good at doing truck stuff. Yet it has a 14,000 lbs towing capacity, 6.5’ bed and 3,500 payload.
GM didn’t release any of their numbers but it does have a 5 ft bed.
Let’s be honest. Anyone who buys either one of these trucks isn’t going to be doing any “truck stuff” in them.

Just like TFL said in one of their videos. This is nothing more than GM’s version of the G-Wagon.
I like the design. It seems plenty capable. The price for the top model spec is a little high IMO but it should be worth it. And I’m sure GM will sell everyone they make.

It’s their lower spec versions is where I feel GM missed the mark. 80k starting price and it only gets 250 miles per charge. Not a great deal.

I have thought that Tesla has overstated their range (being 500+) for the Cyborgtruck. I think GM is playing it safe with 350. With the impressive battery set-up, I think that's very realistic, and most owners will see much better. (Just like with our gas trucks and the MPG we actually get vs. EPA estimates)
