Before going through the trouble of getting them out of the barn and trying it, I thought I’d see if anyone knew the answer.

I have a set of steel 1/2 ton six lug wheels for a 4wd 88-98 GMT 400. Will they bolt onto a 2000 GMT 800 1/2 ton 4wd? I thought I recalled hearing they would not due to hub or rotor clearance, but I may not be remembering correctly.

Any input would be appreciated.

I think it would come down to the brakes. The hub is the same diameter and the lug pattern is obviously the same. It looks like the GMT400 wheels came with a 44-50mm positive offset while the 2000 GMT800 trucks came with a 35mm positive offset. You could try to measure the clearance from the inside of the rim to the brakes if you want to be more sure. Or someone else might know

You can try it, but I think you might have front caliper clearance issues.  Bolt pattern is the same, so no issues there.
