What is the correct Fuel Pump for 2008 GMC 5.3 Xtd Cab?

I have a 2008 GMC 1500 with extended cab and a 5.3.

Fuel gauge is starting to go Bat Crazy and everyone says about 120K your pump will fail so I have 110K and it's time to replace.

Problem is, there are like 3-5 AC Delco pumps that are listed "will work" but obviously there has to be a correct one.

I've seen MU2371, MU1615 and others.

Any ideas as to which is the correct one? Also Is AC/Delco the only brand to consider? Delphi is another popular result too..

Go to Rockauto and select the one that fits your vehicles description.

I would suggest:

1) trying to take a pic of the top of the pump with your phone, to show how many different ports there are, and their layout, then matching that with the pics of the pump tops on rockauto's site

2) if you can't do 1, then maybe go through the rpo codes for your truck, and try to match them up with the descriptions the pumps have

So should I go with any pump make or stick with only AC Delco?

AC Delco or Delphi for longevity or any other brand if you like changing pumps.

Well, you may get lucky... My '04 cab&chassis has two tanks, put in an Airtex pump in one, and a Spectra one in the other, and they've both been going strong for 6 years and 110k km...
