New Quad Exhaust Tips

Recommended Posts

Here is a shot of the quad tips on my 2020 Custom. They were installed by the master himself, Kirk Robinson of Kinney Muffler in Ft Worth, TX.  I had the tips installed on my stock system because I wanted the truck quiet for road trips.  Since the stock exhaust involved a Y pipe, it was quite a chore to get each side perfectly balanced, but Kirk did an amazing job. With the tips, the truck sounds just a little more throaty on start up because of the megaphone effect,  but it is still quiet at cruise.  For those who asked, the stainless steel tips are custom made for Kirk and come in a nicely polished or black finish.

I promised the "war department" otherwise known as my lovely wife, that the tips would be the last mod.  So far, the truck has the following changes: Katzkins leather heated seats, LT leather steering wheel, Pro Clip phone holder, black Bow Ties, 327 hood emblems, Husky rear fender liners, front camera, LED headlights and a quad exhaust.

Just a note to "do it your selfers,"  the tips don't weld directly to the stock Y pipe.  Kirk had to cut off the Y pipe ends and fabricate and bend short sections of exhaust tubing before he could precisely center the new tips.

I went with quad rounded square. I thought they fit the body lines of the truck well. I love the look! Quad tips really fit great on these trucks with the stock tips removed.

Hey brother, Could you give me some insight on that leather heated seats and front camera? For seats: how are they wired, pics of switch placement and such,  where you buy the front camera and is it “oem look” and function.

thanks

The leather heated seats are from katzkins, a California firm that makes them.  In my opinion they are far superior to the stock leather seats.  The front camera is from Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S8X4RJ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1.  It is incorporated in a front license plate frame and plays through my IPhone.  I'm pretty happy with it as it works well for tricky parking situations and other uses as well.

I went with the quad square rounded tips also for the same reason.  I'm pretty ocd when it comes to lines.  The OP's round tips do look sick though!

Now I have to have those quad tips on my Sierra. Is it possible to just order the tips? I'm not wanting to do a full system.

I'm not sure.  Probably the easiest thing would be to call Borla.  They have great customer service.
