I like it. Still has 2 too many doors though. I do like that they are going with the 6 speed over the 10. There are currently no components that I’m aware of to beef up the 10’s.

You guy realize those Yenko Silverado’s are $80k PLUS the price of the truck that you want to modify. So for my truck is would have been $140k!!!!!  That right there is ludicrous!

That’s the price to pay for performance and uniqueness.... I figure my build will be in +/-$100k once I’m done.

GM could build the truck with a LT4/5 and sell it for $79k and make a killing.

I totally agree with you!  I’d sign on the dotted line. But $79k is a hell of a lot cheaper than $140k that my truck would have cost with the Yenko conversion.

it’s awesome you can afford to build your own truck like that. That’s a ton of coin.

I did the math back in the day. Bought a regular truck. A 99 Ford sport 5 speed 4.6. The vortec kit was 3800$. My trusted shop installed it. 2 years later and 100K miles of fun I traded it in. Never a problem with it. The add ons that you don’t need are price drivers. I believe the kits are about 6K now. The kind of horse power you’re starting with now plus 5 lbs of boost of a basic kit. No brainer.

IMO

It's about money. The sales of high performance factory trucks would be minimal compared to the overall sales. I'm personally not interested. If I want to go fast I would buy a sports car, not a truck. Or a motorcycle. So I believe GM thinks the market is to small.

A. It’s not just overall sales but also developing brand recognition and associating your brand with a higher end product.

B. I’m lucky in that I buy pretty much any car I want. I had my eye on a MB GT-C convertible. Amazing car but I just don’t see myself in it (a tad doush’y and flamboyant).  People won’t know what my truck costs, I like that and it’ll be faster than the GT-C.

Over 10 years of Ford Raptor sales and now Ram with TRXs would counter that argument from you. I also would argue because not only is Ford bringing back the a raptor for year 11 but also for year 12 bringing a Raptor R model with a supercharged V8. There is a demand for high performance trucks. And not everyone’s cup of tea is a sports car.
Most are 2 seaters and if they do have back seats they are really cramped. If you have a family, it’s tough and they also can’t tow anything. For toys I have a boat and jet skis and when you hit the water it doesn’t hurt as bad a pavement.  A motorcycle in my opinion is a death trap.  I survived one totaled motor cycle crash and will never own one or drive one again. No thanks.
GM has all the small block heritage and inventory on it’s shelves to produce 2 high performance variant trucks. One sport and one off-road to compete and make a profit in the market.

I see raptors all over. There’s two parked at my old business every day. The starting price point on those are a bargain, comparably.

Same here down in Texas. You want to see some expensive trucks, go out to the oil fields when oil is high. They’d drop $140k in a heartbeat and you’d see a lot of them to boot.

I’m in Texas. I worked the oil pipelines for 40 years.

A tiny Ford dealership in Hillsdale Michigan regularly has Baha Raptors, lifted 5.0 Roush supercharged trucks and lowered Roush supercharged “sport” trucks.   Montrose Ford in Akron Ohio regularly sell rcsb 2wd 5.0 Roush supercharged trucks, and they are listed in the low $40k’s.  It’s a good time to be a Ford fan.

If GM just unlocked the L87 (6.2L) computer, the aftermarket would be flooded with performance options.  But since we are reliant on GM, the progress is super F'ing slow!

I believe HPTuners has unlocked it and it’s ready to be programmed.
