Just picked up my new 2021 2500 LT crew z71 on Friday. Love it so far!  I had a 2020 f150 max tow before and it just wasn't quite up to snuff for our 36' travel trailer.  Anyway, I didn't even notice until today when we were out and grabbed dinner that there are 0 cup holders in 2nd row! My LT has flip down center front armrest. Thankfully my girls car seats have cup holders built in.  Anyway, found it very odd that a 2021 anything wouldn't have cup holders. Ha.

So on that note, has anyone found a good center console type thing for 2nd row?

Middle back seat has a fold down part that have 2 cup holders, and if you have the captain’s front seat, the center console will have another 2 for the back seat riders

Not all rear seats have the fold down middle. My LT is a solid bench seat and front fold down center armrest. So, means 0 cup holders in rear seat.

some things I'll just never get with GM. my wife drives the new Tahoe, and no matter what trim level, if you want for lights, you have to go to GMC, Chevy did not get fog lights

Bummer - is there an aftermarket something that you can hang from the front headrests?

With more electronics being added, conveniences will disappear, consumers want prices to stay the same with more bells and whistles, something has to give.

Completely agree on the new Tahoe, not even sure what kind of cost saving measure that was. I like the factory driving/fog lights, they do a nice job and I use them every time driving at night.

I was actually looking at some last night that hang off tbe headrest. I think i can get something like that and make them hang off back of center console and achieve a somewjat factory look. I'll play around with it and see what I can come up with.  But hey, I actually have led fog lights! Haha

My 2020 LT has the leather package which apparently includes the rear seat storage cubbies and the fold down armrest (with cupholders). I believe there was a separate option on cloth seat models for those features.

Some of the other features on my truck don't make much sense either. The interior lighting and fog lights are all LED but the head and tail lights are incandescent. I'll probably upgrade those with LED bulbs someday.

DRW Silverados have one small exception to that.  Duallies have LED taillights with signature lighting for all trim levels, but incandescent reverse lights for WT and LT, LED reverse lights for LTZ and HC.

Good to know!

As indicated, I only checked the 2021 2500's

Curious if you found a good solution for this. We recently purchased a 2021 Sivlerado 2500HD and found ourselves with the same head-scratching thought... our F150 had cup holders, and this more expensive truck doesnt... haha.

yeah you needed the back seat option to get this  think it was 225 for something.

But overall agree with no cupholders.  GMs interior is still sub par IMO

I get what you are saying but at same time I disagree.  Somethings wouldnt cost more,  a lot of these things plastic parts are already being molded, installed and then sold to you.  There would be no cost to change the mold for a particular area.

In general the big three are killing on trucks and SUV's.  So its a matter of being greedy more than anything, but people pay it.

Take for instance a 1500 LT(fully loaded) and a 1500 Denali.  The denali will cost 20-30k more,  power train(and everything mechanically is the same)  body panels are 98% the same short of badges and some grills.  The denali may have some more bells and whistles but not 20-30k more,  thats pure profit based of branding.

Options just kill me at times.  I could get a standard 20in wheel with truck A say,  the option wheel which is also 20in could cost me 2-4k from what I saw.  yeah option wheel is more fancy,  both are typically same metal,  and yes the option wheel probably took some more machining.  But they both start at the same block of metal,  is it 2-4k more,  no.
