No it is a 5.3 Gas V8. It is Gong into the Dealer for several days to see if they can identify what is Causing the Drain on the Battery. As they cannot test it on a Saturday Their Service Techs suggested several things that can Cause This Won't Start one even mentioned the Starter but I cannot see that if it is not in the Start Position that should not be draining the Battery. Had a GM Engr put a Tech Tool on my truck for several hours and had No Codes came up over the 3 plus hours but he did not try the Remote Lock Function. Had plans for Memorial Weekend and that is all put on Hold as I was going out of Town and there is no service places for over 1/2 hour away and it is a remote off the main roads so cannot Take the Chance getting Strained there and getting it towed would be high cost!

So Till It is FIX I am stuck!!!

There is Just TOO Many Possibilities;

Moisture in wiring Harness, Bad Connection in the Fuse Block underneath the hood, BCM, ECM, Bat Cables either to starter or to a ground, alternator, slim chance "starter", So why spend time Looking I will just have the Chevy Dealer have the Truck and the time To Chase It down And HOPE They Can find It? As It is going In today at 930 AM and they need to have it for Several Days! Will See what The Dealer FINDS!

3 Time Now and here everyone has a Different Suggestion? I did the Ground to the Frame took it apart and rough Up the Frame and the Cable End, New Battery, Checked the Fuses Associated with  Starter etc and EVEN Had someone that works for GM Put a GM Tech Tool on It and "No CODEs"????? It is Too Intermittent.

It will Cost Me But It Just Not RELIABLE the Way It Is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just my opinion, but with value of used truck prices as high as they are right now, might just see what they will give you for it and be done.

I have owned quite a few cars over the years, and the ones kept I trust to get me to work each day and take a trip without worries.

Life is short, no need to have the added stress of an unreliable rig, which is something that you can control.

2 things with the Last Post One is I rarely would pass on a Truck just because it has an Issue giving another That Issue. Second If you look at How Many Issues Trucks / Cars have with all the "Electronics" they Have These Days and some Required by the Federal Govt like the Back Up Camera then Add to that If I were to trade it in and second Buy a "New" Truck is Nice If I could Afford Taking on Another Monthly Bill with a Loan that is not in my "Budget" Right Now! Maybe It is Just me But I have searched Out and Found there is Many Issues Today with the Newer Vehicles some caused by Rush To Market and learning of these after and then attempting to Correct them . Just an Example the Transmissions in the 2017 and some newer model Years have Issues and there is some looking for Lemon Laws to hold the Brand Accountable. Many things that are truly in the control of the brand is who is the Part Vendor that came up with this Part? As unforeseen things Can Happen. As I type this there is many things that could cause my Issue a poorly assembled Wiring Harness, and a molded Fuse Block that could allow in moisture as I live in a northern state when weather is a factor? Many things that can be the Issue even the electronics in a BCM or ECM. Nothing the Old Days like my 1973 Corvette! Mechanical Tach Driven Tach Not Electronic, or the Pop Up Headlights driven by Vacuum Simple and Easy to "Troubleshoot" No electronic fuel injection, easy to remove and replace a spark plug or distributor cap or coil and spark plug wires. Back when It is less Electronics and more knowing what to Look for today few if any Tech Tools but maybe a VOM. And Electronics have all kinds of things that Can Be the Cause. Guess I am just from the "KIS" School or Keep It Simple. a Couple Years back there was Talk that the Car Companies did not owners to "work" on there own Cars & Trucks but that went No Where like other things Have some no longer want others to repair things it Voids the Warranty. Yet the USA was made on Service and Repair Industry today that is all but Gone Most things Today are Throwaway! Because it would cost more to repair then Buy a New One. I Think I will take my Chances with getting This Truck "REPAIR"!

Sorry Just me I did look at the New Trucks on the Dealer's Lot and None had the sticker Price this Truck had 3K less not sure why but Still over 45K is not n my Budget even if I were to trade in this Truck!

Okay, This is What The Dealership found after 2 Day of Trying to repeat the "No Crank No Start" They DID! They Found that the "SOLENOID" would Draw "HIGH" Current. SO I am not 100% Sure BUT It has Started EVERY Time Since and EVERYDAY I Go and Just Start the Truck and IT HAS! So they Put in an OEM Starter / Solenoid not a refurbish or Remanufacturer Starter / Solenoid. SO Far I am Good with That. As for watching too Many Utube Videos Each one has a Different "Idea" the last was the IP Custer was the Cause for 2003 Silverado. Again SOme here Think buying a use trucks is good and Selling one that Has this Problem was a "Good Idea" I am Not that Way Gald some would Pass the BUCK But I like My Truck Just wished It did Not Have This "No Crank No Start" Problem . I will Leave It there as this Place Just has None that Are All Things Mechanics and I doubt I will be back as I stated Too Many Things and No Means to just but a Tech Tool to Know what the Cause IS! Guess GM Needs to find a Way To ID if It is the Starter Solenoid with a CODE but That will never Happen Till all vehicle are "Electric and that will be a Long Way OFF!!! AT elast for me I Need a Trck that can go 580 Miles on a Charge and right now the best any can do is maybe 300 Miles?
