Thanks for this reply @GTPprixand also the quick email reply!  With your prompting I just found the email from you and it's weirder than going to my spam folder....  I have my gmail from that account forwarded to my main gmail account, and for whatever reason, that email apparently wasn't forwarded!  When I logged into that account, there it was, sitting in the inbox.  Gmail is indeed relentless.

Glad to hear that I have an option with that gauge cluster in my 2020 Custom Trail Boss.

Now, if I can actually get one of my ordered steering wheels to be shipped....

Well, GMpartsstore.com cancelled the order for the second wheel that I tried to order from them, also due to unavailability.

So, I just ordered a 84813360 from gmpartsdirect.com and hopefully they can deliver.

I see a wheel on eBay, but with the heat and it may have a blemish:  "Genuine OEM part. Item may have minor surface blemish from being in bulk storage, out of the original packaging. Overall, part is in very nice condition." And I don't want to go through the expense and trouble of this mod and then be irritated by some blemish on the steering wheel.  There were some other wheels with the bronze inserts, and they had slight defects too.

My factory foam wheel has a little nub up top at the 12 o'clock position, facing towards the front of the truck, and it drives me crazy when my fingers feel it....  I was going to try filing it down or something, but worry that I'll ruin the steering wheel.  Looking forward to getting a new leather wheel on there.

I ordered part # 84946341 from gmpartsdirect. It's really nice. Here's a good picture of it: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ado-84946341

I also ordered this from harnessdoctor: https://harnessdr.com/product/2019-2021-silverado-sierra-steering-wheel-lin-bus-harness/

I haven't received the harness yet, but does anyone have instructions or a video on how the lin bus harness is installed?

I too ordered part number 84946341 from gmpartsdirect, but haven't received it yet.

Any ideas on how long it took to get yours?  I ordered on March 30th, and the order status still says "In Process" and now they haven't responded to my inquiry ticket that I put in several days ago.....

I have the harness from harnessdr, and placed the order from WAMS for the "4.2″ Color Cluster Upgrade Kit" instead of the fancy all digital gauge.

I'm a bit annoyed about the steering wheel ordering not going well for me.

I ordered on April 14th and it only took about a week to get mine. They did put the order on hold at first because the part didn't match my VIN#. But I told them I knew it was different because I was swapping out the cluster and asked them to go ahead and ship it.

Thanks for the info.  They also put a hold on mine due to the VIN mismatch, but I contacted them to go ahead, but apparently they never did, since I ordered two weeks before you and didn't get mine yet!

Have you found a way to get the heat steering wheel to work?

I have done some research on that, but I'm not sure if it will work.

From reading the schematics on the gmupfitter site, we would need to add a wire to the clockspring harness, similar to what is required to get the steering wheel controls to work.

We would need to connect the X85 clockspring connector pin 10 (Circuit 4119 GN/BU size 0.35, LIN Bus 19) to K33 HVAC Control Module X2 pin 6.  (As seen on pages 182 and 461 in the schematics.)

The related 7.5A F22 fuse for the circuit was already in my fusebox.

I don't know where the K33 X2 connector is located, but I believe it is in the instrument panel, so harnessdr could probably make up a wire for this, similar to the other one.  The big question for me is, does the HVAC Control Module have the Lin Bus 19 support on our trucks?

Somebody should try this!  :)

The schematics can be found on the GM Upfitter site here:

https://www.gmupfitter.com/light-duty-vehicles/light-duty-2020/

Under: "Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra Pick up and Chassis Cab Applications"

then: "Chevrolet Silverado LD (1500) Pick Up ELECTRICAL Section (NEW body style)"

Well this is annoying.

I have my LIN bus wire from harnessdr.  I just received my new gauge cluster from WAMS.  BUT, the 84946341 steering wheel that I ordered on March 29th from gmpartsdirect.com hasn't shipped and the order still shows as "In Progress".

Making it worse for me is that fact that customdriver ordered the same part from the same place on the April 14th and received it in a week!

I've emailed them, used their helpdesk system and left a voicemail, but no response for several days now.

Is this normal for gmpartsdirect?  Anyone have an inside connection to check on the order for me?

I'm afraid to place an order elsewhere for the 84946341 wheel, since I don't have a clue if they actually ordered it or not, and I don't want to be stuck sending one back.  Ugh.

The Harness Doctor connector comes with excellent instructions and tech support by telephone is the best I've experienced.  Just make sure you make an accurate count of where to plug the harness in as the factory are not numbered.  It would be a real bummer to have everything hooked up and experience a malfunction because of an incorrect plug in to the female locations.

So I just noticed, after months of doing the swap, that OEM fogs don’t work. These were added after I purchased the truck so I’m guessing I screwed up by not letting WAMS know when they programmed the cluster? Or, do I need to chase wires for a few hours under the hood and see if something else is wrong?

hoping just a loose connector somewhere but I never have that good of luck
