Air Blasting After Remote Start

Recommended Posts

After remote start, the truck blasts air until you put the key in, then (and only then) it goes back to whatever setting it was on when you last turned the truck off. I'm guessing this is some attempt to make the interior "cool down" or "warmup" before you get in. But it's terrible.

Anybody figure out how to disable this stupid feature!?!?

It's part of the auto or semi-auto climate control and will run the heat or AC to bring it up or down to temp. I'm not sure what the exact temp is. Why is this an issue?

No can disable:

DUAL ZONE AUTO CLIMATE OPERATION DURING REMOTE START:

Cold ambient temperature that is below 50°F (10°C):

Mode = Defrost

Temperature = Full Hot

Blower = Six bars

Recirculation = Fresh Air

A/C compressor = Only commanded on if conditions allow compressor engagement.

Hot ambient temperature that is above 59°F (15°C):

Mode = Last known settings

Temperature = Full Cold

Blower =  Last known settings, unless the blower was in the "Off" position. In which case, the blower will be turned to the "Auto" setting.

Recirculation = Recirculation

A/C compressor = On

Mid ambient temperature that is anything between the cold and hot ambient temperature values:

Mode = Last known setting

Temperature = Last known setting(s)

Blower =  Last known setting

Recirculation = Last known setting

A/C compressor = Last known setting

SINGLE ZONE MANUAL CLIMATE OPERATION DURING REMOTE START:

Cold ambient temperature - below 50°F (10°C):

Mode = Defrost

Temperature = Full Hot

Blower = 8

Recirculation = Fresh Air

A/C compressor = Only commanded on if conditions allow compressor engagement.

Hot ambient temperature - above 59°F (15°C):

Mode = Panel Vents

Temperature = Full Cold

Blower =  8

Recirculation = Recirculate

A/C compressor = On

Mid ambient temperature - anything in between "cold" and "hot" ambient temperature values that are listed above:

Mode = Last known setting

Temperature = Last known setting

Blower =  Last known setting

Recirculation = Last known setting

A/C compressor = Last known setting

What's stupid about it?

The entire point of remote start is to make the cabin comfortable, it its hot it blows cold and if its cold it heats it up, turns on the window defrost, heated mirriors steering wheel and seats

How's it annoying? Really how?

Dont remote start the vehicle if you dont want to use its features🤷‍♂️

You can disable some of the heaters in vehicle setting on the radio, same place for the windows down from keyfob and horn alerts, rear seat reminder and what not

How is it a bad design? That's the whole POINT of having remote start is to warm or cool the interior!!!!

Remote start is great, but I think 60 degrees is too cool for full air. Probably should have bumped that up to 70. I've got the Custom trim so no adjusting for me.
